OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH THE NEW

[10/23/2004]
Today I said goodbye to the original prototype. I was not referring to it anymore, and it was falling apart and taking up space, so I removed the internal components (motors) and tossed it into the trash. Goodbye old short-lived friend.

Today I also created a new battery pack using the NiCd batteries from the scavanged drills. Since I harvested components from two drills, I have two sets of batteries, so I will be building another NiCd pack later (probably this week). I marked this one with yellow tape to distinguish it from the other pack, which I will mark with blue tape. That way I can keep a cycle of batteries going, charging one while another is in use. I have to say that the NiMH batteries really ran down quickly during my test drive yesterday. I hope they're not bad! I'll have to run a side-by-side comparison with the NiCds.
