ARMOR DESIGN

[10/16/2004]
I cut up some more cereal boxes to put some armor siding on to see how it looked.

And I just kept on going.
I thought perhaps building a prototype of the armor was a bit premature at this point, but then I realized that pretty much everything else from here on out depends on having a base plate that I have not yet cut. But in order to cut the base plate, I needed to know its dimensions. And the only way to know that was to put the armor on so I had an outline to trace (or measure). Now I believe I have a pattern piece for cutting out the base plate. The cardboard armor might be usable as a pattern for cutting and bending the real metal, but I will not be able to determine that for sure until the frame is actually mounted to the base plate. Hopefully, I will get the base plate cut and the frame assembled on Monday (10/18/2004).
